 (I think an in-balance in hamstrings & quads ...not sure) so for me I really do have to watch what 'activities' I get up to pre-competition.
Practice, practice, practice until you get those muscles balanced.:groovy:
 Maybe I'm too enthusiastic! .....nah really I have issues with my pelvis (I think an in-balance in hamstrings & quads ...not sure) so for me I really do have to watch what 'activities' I get up to pre-competition.
You have to work (out) hard on building your short-axis muscles / movement / undulations (even if you're a long axis, i.e., non-evil, swimmer).
I'd say you're doing something right!!:cheerleader:

Doesn't anyone else suffer from 'shaggers back' afterwards?!

Thinking strictly clinically (sp) ... I set out to once and for all answer this burning (and very popular) question. After much discussion, I somehow convinced my wife to help with this experiment. (used the "will benefit all man kind" line...she fell ....uh she agreeded to help) I then came up with a 3000 yard test set...and then began ...yes before, than next day..no before...my 6am morning workouts.. After one week I will say, my data is not sufficient to see any significant trends either positive, or more importantly negative.... I believe we need More Data, ... I will say my general demenor has improved, even if my swimming hasnt....will get back with you in ummmmmm.....November, with more complete results

I wouldn't know how to move this to a NSR Forum, so..........
OK, but how many minutes before the "On your marks" call?
And, since this is FOR the competition, on the deck or under the stands?
Is there a FINA or Masters (why not Mistresses?) rule?
Another saying of Franco's from the movie The Gumball Rally, "Some things are more important than winning." That about summs it up. Oh, yes he was talking about sex.
