Hello,
Are any of you long or short distance swimmers? What do you think the advantages/disadvantages of each are?
During the semester of school I was taking a swimming class and that's what got me back to swimming. One day we were having a fun day and were doing sprints and my instructor told me that I am a long distance swimmer. I understand that most people don't really like long distance swimming because it's more to swim but I don't mind. =)
Hope everyone had a happy new year!!!

Not everyone can be a sprinter--partly it depends on the number of fast twitch (vs. slow twitch) muscle fibers you have. The type of training you do also makes a difference (anaerobic/lactate production vs. aerobic).
