Has anybody else suffered with a sensitive nose ? ...As far as chorine goes...I swim in a fairly gentle pool (without heaps of chlor) but I’ve suddenly noticed an aversion to artificial perfumes like fabric conditioner…Just wondered if it's the pool or just because we are bombarded with too many chemicals these days?

Hello, if it started bothering you all at once make sure it is not something else you've changed recently, ie. soap, shampoo, detergent, ect.., I had a bad allergic reaction a couple years ago when switching dryer sheets. Tim

Time for Nose Plug! And dont worry about goofyness! All goggles caps ect are goofy! (At least out of the pool!) Yes there are lots of pool conditions that can cause sypmtoms. does your pool have a record of ph, chlorine ect day to day.. a log you can see. The may be changes you do not know about.! Things can happen with pool machinery ect. Nose plug ,goggles ,cap, no problem!

As I understand it, in most people: Consistent Over-exposure to allergens can cause an onset of allergies. Gradual controlled exposure to the allergen will eventually de-sensitize you.

Thanks for your replies! ..Yes, some months ago I did swallow my female pride, and bought a nose clip....now florescent orange does not exactly compliment my eyes :-P...guess that's why it was the last one on the shelf. However, whether it's a good thing to become too dependant on them..I'm not so sure, but in my case...would say they have definitely helped, as I suffer with far fewer sneezes. ....The tip about the "Gradual controlled exposure to the allergen will eventually de-sensitize you" ...Yes, can see the wisdom in that piece of advice..shall ponder on it some more....in the meantime i've just purchased some environmentally green washing powder.
