Hey every one its my first post :) I was searching the web for a work out for my friend and I do do at the YMCA when i found this site, and i love it, but i need some advice. I'm a sophmore in highschool and on my schools Varsity team. Our coach read a book over the summer on how to help us swim better and we tried it at the beginning of the season but it didnt work as well as he had hoped. so we went back to what we had done last year. but as he was switching from one to the other i went on vacation for a week. So he had brought every one else gradually up to where they are now and im having trouble keeping up being on my first week back. Its hard to practice on the weekends cause our practice pool is half an hour away and the nearest indoor public pool is 45 min away and i cant drive myself. I was wondering if there was anything that i could do at home to catch up or if there is somethign I should do at practice to get back in. Any help would be appriciated ~Amy

  • After time off, it seems real hard to get caught back up. As Sparx35 mentioned concentrate on technique. Also, remember to focus on goals. If you have a goal to qualify for the state meet, focus on that and work toward that goal. That way the difficulties of getting back into the swing of swimming can be put in perspective. Temporary set backs should not distract you from your goals, they should motivate you to focus on achieving your goals through redoubled efforts.
