A friend of mine has a son (age 11) who has been doing some great times in the 50yd. free that have been under 22 seconds. It's been a while for me and I don't know what kids are doing today but this seems pretty impressive. I'm telling him he has a star on his hands. What kind of times are kids doing today?

Jim, I looked at last years top 16 for USA swimming in the 10 and under boys and there is a kid from Hindsdale that is on that list doing a 27 in the 50 free. To get on that list means he is darn fast. This kid is now 11 having a June birthday, and still doing 27's, so if this is your friends kid, yes he is very good(he already has AAA times in a lot of events and he is only 11), but no he is not swimming 22s.
