Well, I have not gone swimming for about two months. Last time I went I did 1-mile at Queensboro Community College.
Instead, I've been doing a weight/cardio routine. Sometimes, I hit bodyweight exercises too. You know. Pushups, chinups, bodyweight squats. For cardio, I've been running or doing stationary bike. I do cardio twice a week.
I've already lost 8 pounds, and I'm down a waist size.
It just goes to show you, that you have to change your workouts sometimes. Now, when I get back to the pool more often, I'll still lose weight, because it'll all be new to me again. It's so true when they say you have to change your workouts to lose weight.

Hey courteous, i have read your post and was wondering if you have a set goal for weight loss. Have you changed your diet or is all you are doing is exersize. If you still want to lose more weight, you might want to try talking to your doctor or try a good program like Weight Watchers. That program worked wonders for me. I was 220 pounds and at 5'11" that is alot of weight for that body size. After about 5 months, I was down to 175 and I decided to start to swim in compition again after 13 years. Like I said, I don't know your situationas in your goals and if its nopne of my business please let me know.
Thanks
James
