I pay 2.40 english pounds per swim(about 4$)plus petrol to get there(2.5 english miles)all this adds up to about 10 pounds....about $15 per week..not too much but all adds up over the years

We have a familiy membership at the local Y. It is about $75 per month for all of us.
It is a good place to swim. Two 25 yard pools one indoor and one outdoor (summer only). They are planning to add a 50 meter pool outdoors and covering the second 25 yard pool by next fall. Hopefully a Masters team will follow!
Although it is a Y, I can't say that I have any of the same problems Shaky has. Unless I go between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm -it's a zoo then. I usually go at lunch and rarely have to share a lane or maybe split a lane with one other person.
