My computer screwed up and I lost my link to the "Finnish formula" utility. If any of you out there know what I am talking about, can you let me know what the web address is?
This has to do with a discussion in yesteryear regarding "comparable times" over ones lifespan--i.e., a 49 at age 20 for the 100 free is equivalent to what time at age 60?
Thanks, Jim
Jim, I did a search on this site for Finnish formula and the link came up from one of your posts as: http://n3times.com/swimtimes/
The search function on this site is very good. I take solace in this formula myself, especially as I reach 40 in 4 weeks time !
so how does the Finnish formula work for you? For me, my best time in 1941 compared to the equivalent event in 2002 (220 yards and 200 short course meters) would have had me do a 2:04 back then, instead of the actual 2:37.5 that I did in fact swim. But then, I'll have to admit that I don't think I have any Finnish blood in my recent heritage.
