what is the difference between ozone and straight chlorine filtration systems?
Hope you have a terrific trip tp SD :)
hi there-
there are some pools out there that have been built in the last 10 or so years that use an ozone filtration system instead of chlorine to keep the water clean and bacteria free. i cannot tell you exactly how the ozone systems work but i know that carbon is somehow involved in the process. i can tell you that it is really nice to swim in this type of a pool--no damage to skin, hair, swimsuit, no chlorine smell on your skin, etc. we actually have one such pool here in good old milwaukee that is about 7 years old. i figure that there must be some of these around in san diego somewhere. anybody else heard of these or know where there might be one in san diego?? thanks a bunch. kate
I went to San Diego in June and did a pool search before I went. I didn't go there, but the Jewish Community Center in La Jolla was listed as having ozone cleaning (and its 50M!). I just rechecked the listing and didn't see the ozone reference so it must have been from a different pool search engine. I chose to swim the La Jolla cove and it was fantastic (but cold).
