University of Toledo - Dropping Men's Swim and Dive?

I am not certain yet, but U of Toledo may be dropping men's swimming and diving. I am certain they are dropping the men's diving. Yesterday, an Illinois senior HS diver had called the Toledo coach to let him know that he was ready to sign with Toledo. But before the diver could "accept", the coach told him that the "program" was being dropped. The diver was so astonished that he did not ask if it was just the diving that was being dropped - or the entire swimming program. There is no press release on the Toledo swmming web page. Does anyone out there have any confirming information? :(

I already mention about Fresno State dropping the women's program. But probably that doesn't get attention as much since now there are more women college programs than men. Back in the 1970's it was the reverse. And UCLA didn't even try to convince Shirley Bashashoff to stay another year, she did her first two years of college swimming on the Men's team at Golden West college. So, women's swimming was not seen as important as men about 30 years ago, now the tables have reverse and now colleges are starting to ax programs of both sexes.
