I am interested in the fees other organizations charge to be members of their team. I am very interested in YMCA's (YWCA), but would greatly appriecate information from any club...I need lots of data.
Is there a fee to swim at your facility, besides the Masters fee?
What is it?
Is there a fee to swim on the team?
What is it?
And finally, are your swimmers required to pay their masters registration?
Thanks in advance!

I do not swim at a Y, but belong to rec center which has age group swimming and masters swimming. To swim on team, you must be member of rec which is 250/yr, and then the masters swim team fee is 140 for Sept thru March, which consist of 3 practices a week with coach. Throw in the USMS dues, the meet dues I swim at, and few speedos and accesories and here I thought this sport would have been cheaper than my other passion, golf.

Pacific Masters dues from about 1991 to 2002 was $25.00. USMS increased the national part of the dues $5.00 starting in 2003. Pacific Masters annual dues starting November 1, 2002 is $30.00. A great bargain.

I'm assuming you are comparing apples to apples here...
If you are getting a golf club membership, three golf practices a week with a golf coach and regularly getting to play in golf tournaments (and throwing in golf equipment), all for less than you spend on swimming then I need to move to your neck of the woods.

ABM Team Fees:
YMCA Member : $150
Non- Member : $225
The team fees includes the $25 fee for USMS. There no LMSC fee.
The ABM Program offers 6 workouts all with deck coaches. Our winter season (SCY) runs from October to April. We start our summer season (LCM) starts in June to August.
Check out our website for additional information about the Masters or Age Group program @ www.ablyswim.org
I swim with the Kansas City Blazers Masters program which is sponsored by the Johnson County, Kansas, Parks & Recreation District.
We have four, 90-minute coached workouts per week.
We purchase punch cards. A punch card is good for 15 workouts and costs $55.00 (winter) and $65.00 (summer). This works out to $3.66 per workout (winter). It's nice because we only pay for the workouts we attend. If someone were to actually attend every practice, it works out to be $58.56 per month (winter).
