It was just announced that the Olympics have been postponed till the same dates in 2021.
How do you feel about this?
How will this help to hurt those planning to do trials to try to win spots?
It had to be done. Even if there was a way to assure the safety of the athletes this year, there are athletes all over the world who don't have access to training facilities. Some athletes can still train as usual and some can't and the competition would be unfair(also probably dangerous)
Completely the right decision ... but ... let's just hope we're closer to a vaccine and/or treatment a year from now, that planes are once again flying, hotels not functioning as emergency hospitals, we have some functioning global economy, ... I love the Olympics ... but I'm not convinced they'll even happen in 2021 :(
