Searching for a swim tracker

Does anyone have suggestions about a good tracker they're using to measure their 1) distance, 2) heart rate and 3) duration while in the water (not a FitBit Charge 3, Apple Watch, or Samsung Fit2Pro)? I had a Fit2Pro that needs to be replaced. While the original did a good job, it is expensive for the value it brings (~$200). I also just returned a FitBit Charge 3 because it only captured duration while in the water. Only after my swim, will it sync to the smart phone app. Really? Developers, what are you thinking? Based on my research, this is typical of swim trackers.

  • I don't know what your budget is, but take a look at the various Garmin products. I say that simply because I recently got some great customer service from them. I returned my Forerunner 10 to them...which I didn't think was still under warranty...for repair or replacement with a refurbished one, for which I expected to pay. Once they received it, they contacted me to inform me the watch was not repairable, and that they were out of stock of new/refurbished Forerunner 10s, and if I didn't want to wait on re-stocking, offered to replace it with a new out-of-the-box Forerunner 25 (a slightly better, pricier device)...AT NO CHARGE TO ME. Duh...yeah! And then they "overnighted" it to me. Neither device is a swim watch (although I have used them to accurately record distance/time of open water swims), but they do make swim-specific watches. I simply mention this customer service FYI in the event you would need to return it for some reason. Dan
