Training for a varied race line-up: Advice?

Hey, Forumites! I am training for the National Senior Games in June (and a few meets before then). My events will be: 50 br, 200 br, 100 fly, 200 fly, 200 IM, and 400 IM. My two breaststroke events rank highest in priority with the 200 fly and 400 IM equal priority after that. 100 fly and 200 IM are last priority. How do you think I should divide my training up between the four strokes and different race paces for each of the events? I swim six days per week, and I typically limit my daily yardage to 2,500 yards to prevent repetitive stress injuries. Your advice would be most appreciated. :agree: Thanks!

  • Hey Elaine - I would definitely work more breaststroke AND butterfly into your routine, including some mind bending butterfrog and and *** with dolphin kick. These latter two help reinforce the short axis "wave action" and are just goldarn fun!
