Hey, Forumites! I am training for the National Senior Games in June (and a few meets before then). My events will be: 50 br, 200 br, 100 fly, 200 fly, 200 IM, and 400 IM. My two breaststroke events rank highest in priority with the 200 fly and 400 IM equal priority after that. 100 fly and 200 IM are last priority.
How do you think I should divide my training up between the four strokes and different race paces for each of the events? I swim six days per week, and I typically limit my daily yardage to 2,500 yards to prevent repetitive stress injuries.
Your advice would be most appreciated. :agree:
Thanks!
Thanks, JP! It sounds like I have been on the right track so far. After yesterday's warm up, I started my main set with a practice 400 IM race and ended with 8x25 *** sprints on 1:00. In between was an endurance set. Today, the meat of my workout were sets of 50's *** and then 50's of fly on a :15 rest interval.
Any further suggestions you have for sets would be great-- thanks!
