Potential World-Class Aquatics Facility in Houston

Houston is the fourth largest city in the nation. Yet it lacks a world-class aquatics facility. I'm encouraging the USMS and swimming communities, especially those in the Houston area and Texas, to view this link, like the FB page, and fill out the survey: houstonaquaticcenter.org/ Survey link is: docs.google.com/.../viewform Survey results will help show that there's demand to have this built. City and county officials, the Houston Sports Authority, and potential stake holders need to hear our voice.

  • This is in the very earliest stages of development. Right now the possibilities being looked at are: inside Houston city limits, outside 610, inside Beltway 8, closer to Hobby Airport, Harris County, possibly near NRG or US 90, or SH288, ownership/operation is undetermined but City of Houston playing a major role. Yes, the Conroe ISD Natatorium (Woodlands) is very nice but think of a facility more like IUPUI with two 50 meter pools and capable of hosting national and international competitions. We are hoping to have 1,000 or more surveys to show the city, county, and other stake holders that there is interest in building such a facility.
