more newbie questions!

Ok, I'm going to try my 2nd meet in a couple weeks and will actually be diving from the blocks (I wasn't comfortable doing that during my first meet and I was only swimming the long distances of 500 and 1650, so not so crucial). I've been practicing, and finally with some custom earplugs, and right googles everything is not falling off upon entering. However, once in a while it still does. My question is what should I do if my goggles come off during the start? It's really hard swimming when they are half off my face.....thoughts?
  • At the 1st turn wall - stop and put them back on. Yes, tighter and keep the straps even with the front of your goggle placement on your face.
  • finish the race as best you can :) I once swam a 200 free with my goggles hanging off my shoulder. Not sure how I managed to keep them there... If they're falling off they're not tight enough. A cap over them could help. Also, I find if I put them up higher on the back of my head they stay on better.
