My masters group is not coached. Only about 10% of what I've learned about starts, strokes and turns was learned from other swimmers and the rest I learned online. I'll be on vacation next month and will swim with a coached masters swim team. I don't know what to expect! I've emailed the coach and he knows my ability level; I think I've bothered him enough.
I know they're all different, but tell me what yours is like!
Our coach tells each lane the next set and staggers us so that each lane starts then she tells the next lane. The faster lanes get longer sets that the mid or not so fast and learning lanes. We ALL do drills at the start of the season whether you are slow or state champs. we all learn ALL strokes . Some nights we do stroke and others free and others distance. She puts us in lanes according to how fast we swim -- what strokes we can do in those sets and what hurts this week!!
