I did a pretty intense weight workout last week then swam the next two days. Now, I'm having a burning pain in my tricep/bicep area (fortunately it's not the shoulder) when I bend my arm like the start of the crawl. I wonder if anyone has experienced this and what you've done for it. I've already taken a couple days off from exercise, used ice and ibuprofen, but nothing seems to make it go away.
I had a similar situation with my elbow caused by too much heavy lifting. I took about one week off from swimming and lifting; then after I resumed swimming I cut back my lifting to one to two sessions per week of lighter weight but more reps. I still have some pain but am attempting to listen to my body more and adjust appropriately.
