time window - on goggle timer

These were out years ago and I had a number of people use them with great success. Then they seemed to disappear from the market.

Because I don't live anywhere near a swim team, I swim workouts by myself. I've have been on the lookout for some sort of timing device and saw those little goggle timer thingies but decided against it. So... in an effort to improve my workouts, my husband made me a little personal pace clock that I carry with me. I went to "X"mart and purchased a really cheap quartz clock on sale for 4.99. My husband then built a little stand that will withstand wind gusts and screwed the clock onto it. I wrapped it in clear plastic wrap to protect it from flipturn spash, and now, I have a great inexpensive pace clock!!!!! It's not perfect.... but better than nothing. AND.... I have noticed that ever since I have started doing timed splits, even slow ones, I am improving. I thank this forum for getting me out of the ole back and forth mode and into a more sophisticated workout schedule. Quality, not quantity is paying off. Cheers, barb

I used the suction-cup goggle timer for over a year (until the battery ran out- you couldn't replace it), and loved it. I had real trouble trusting pacing for longer sets & this marvelous clock allowed me to instantly adjust my stroke cadence to suit my deisred pace. Let me know where you get one & how much $.

I used one for a year..and loved it. As stated above..you could not replace the battery. It sure took all the guess out of "Where am I in this set?" I usually know where I am..but that little clock made sure of it. I loved it in the the mile... Bring it back... and I am a buyer. It did take a few days getting used to...then you learned how to read it without letting your head wander.
