Hi there!
I have been in Phys therapy for a hip impingement for about 8 weeks. Wasn't getting great results so I went to a Specialist who re-confirmed that I have an impingement with some X-rays and an examination. Next step is to go get a numbing injection in the hip and - if that takes away the pain - I guess it's just additional confirmation that I have an impingement...? Follow-up after that is to get an MRI and see what the labrum and cartilage looks like - if it's inflamed, next step is seeing YET another Specialist in hip impingement (AKA orthopedic doctor/surgeon) and perhaps a hip arthroscopy :bitching: ugh
The pain isn't terrible - like a 3/10 - and I've had surgery before on both my feet, only to find that I had to do EVEN more work to recover AND that I have arthritis in my feet and knees which I'll be fighting for the rest of my life.
I'm really skeptical about surgery so I wanted to get feedback from people here. Anyone have experience with hip impingement? Does surgery actually work? It certainly hasn't "worked" for my feet.
Thanks!
