Expanding a Masters Club (CSUN)

Hi we are expanding our Masters club into a college area, but I am not to sure about advertising, I own a swim school but that all done by word of mouth. I don't want to spend a lot on advertising. Any surgestions?
  • May be a dumb question, but does the college have a pool? If so, I'd put up signs and maybe hang out at the pool. I swim in the pool at the university in my city. There is a fitness center in the building and several basketball courts. I would talk to as many swimmers as I could when they're there swimming. Good luck and let us know of your progress!
  • Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, etc. account for the club? Dan
  • Thanks our master's program has started to grow. Just by word of mouth and USMS site
  • Also, make sure your info is on www.swimmersguide.com. Are you registered as USMS club? Then, make sure you're on the new club finder on this site.
  • Are you training at the plaza pool? 11602 If so, make sure you get that info out as it's a sweet location.
  • If you're close to the college, simple copies placed on posting boards would be cheap advertising. Most campuses have several of these throughout the campus (especially the bookstore).
  • A lot of mid-large cities have a free, sports-related magazine/newspaper that is given out at YMCA, gyms, etc. Maybe you can get an article or advert in one of those.
  • Learn to use Facebook. You can hot a few thousand targeted people for $10. Set the geographic location on the college, with a small radius. I'd also get on touch with student services and see if you can put up flyers at the athletic complex and the student center
