bathing caps

I'd like some feedback - how important are bathing caps for reducing drag? I have moderately short hair, and I keep that way so I my hair doesn't flop in my eyes while swimming. Recently someone suggested to me that I'd notice a difference if I wore a cap. Problem is, the main difference I felt was about 10 degrees of extra body heat - not to mention my beet red face. I can't make it through a practice wearing a cap. Any comments?

As I keep telling people, there are advantages to male pattern baldness, and now here's another! All the benefits of reduced drag like wearing a cap with none of the drawbacks such as heat buildup or discomfort! And talk about the post-swimming shower and dressing routine time saved by not having to deal with all that drying, brushing and combing. Bald IS beautiful!
