Is it possible to learn proper stroke technique with swimmers snorkel and pull buoy? I have bulging disk in the neck and dr advised against rotating neck and wanted to try to get into the water with a snorkel and pull (too keep my hips/legs from sinking).

I see swimmers doing front crawl with snorkel often at my local pool, my brother when recuperating from surgery used a snorkel to swim and avoid the head turning so yes front crawl is OK. I don't think I remember seeing people use a snorkel and a pull buoy at the same time. Using a snorkel may help to keep head in better alignment with body as well, so legs don't sink and then don't need pull buoy. hope it goes OK, just take it very easy to start off with. Not sure about *** or butterfly and probably best not backstroke...
