I have 15 month-old twin boys who I have been taking to the pool. We started at about 9 months with the swimava neck ring which was pretty neat but they have outgrown.
I've considered different options for the next thing to try, ranging from different vests to a arms-torso combo. The 'water wings' or armbands have a poor reputation and can teach bad habits from what I've read. The one I'm leaning toward is a speedo vest to assist back floating.
My goal at this stage is just acclimation, I'm not teaching actual swimming yet.
So I am interested to hear from experienced instructors, coaches, trained lifeguards, and other parents.
