Help me increase my substanability ?

Hi guys, Im 19 years old, male, non-professional but want to be pro swimmer. I usually swim freestyle and breaststroke, i have some problems but i dont know any coach to consult, hope you guys can help me out. I always go fast and intensely instead of nicely and smoothly. Therefore i got exhausted very fast, i can never go past 2 laps. I want to gain muscle and grow taller, should i go fast of slow ? how can i improve endurance and sustainability ? I always feel sleepy and tired in the pool, i think it's because i didnt warm up right so How long and how do you guys warm up ? And what do you guys eat or drink before swimming ? i usually take a bar of chocolate and a glass of milk 30mins beforehand .
