1650 fly

That is over! :) I did it because . . . well, I don't remember, but it had something to do with Ion. It wasn't too bad - it hurt much less than the 200 fly (the last time I did that I hurt for days!) I met my first goal, which was to finish. My time and pace was about what I hoped for. I went out slow and stayed slow, lots of glide in the stroke and off of the walls, and there was something left at the end. If it hadn't been for the full-of-water goggles things would have been perfect. Except that I came in second. If the winner had been next to me I would have been in trouble. She averaged about 1:12 / 100 yds, I think, and if I had tried to keep up I never would have made it. Anyone want advice on how to swim this event, I can give it (I'm sure there will be lots of interest  .)

I say it is a *manifestation* of a psychiatric disorder. Some manifestations of disorders are socially acceptable, some are not. This one falls somewhere between the two . . . My wife did check my insurance before I went. The health insurance is good; it covers the problem. The life insurance is also good - I am covered for heart attacks that occur during these particular manifestations. :p
