Question: Is it okay for expectant mothers to dive off the blocks? I was thinking in the first trimester it is probably okay, but I figured after that it may not be safe. Any knowledge on this??
It's been almost 11 years since my last pregnancy so I may not be up to date on the latest thinking. That said, I was lucky enough to be able to swim normally right up to my due dates for all 3 of my pregnancies - but I avoided diving into the pool while pregnant - feet first entries only for me.
I ran and swam through 3 pregnancy's back in the 'late 80's and early 90's. You will be so happy with yourself for continuing to exercise! You will have the best possible delivery you can have, plus you'll be up and back to normal in little to no recovery time!
I agree with Arthur, I'd avoid diving in off anything and totally go from a wall push off.
