I was looking at the results and saw that my friend, Steven Peterson, from Puget Sound, didn't make the list (he should have been about 5th in the 200 BR 65-69 with a 3:15 from Worlds.) Thanks for catching that, Allen. Jim is investigating.
  • Are requested split requests from the meet going to be uploaded in the Event Results Data Base? I think LMSC Top Ten Recorders need to know this answer soon so they can make sure the splits are included in the National Top Ten? Are split requests for initial distances of all individual events (excluding individual backstroke events) and for all relay lead-off splits going to be submitted on behave of all swimmers like what was was done at Santa Clara and College Park National meets for the USMS Top Ten? If split times from individual events will not be automatically included in the Event Results Data Base, should a request be made to webmaster@usms.org for the times to be added to the Event Results Data Base?
  • The results from the 2014 FINA World Masters Championships have been uploaded to the USMS event results database. You can view the times in a couple of ways: a) In the Event Rankings pages: --- go to usms.org --- mouse over "Events & Results" --- select "Event Results" --- select "Look up event rankings" Direct link is: www.usms.org/.../toptimes.php b) In your personal results page: --- go to usms.org --- mouse over "Events & Results" --- select "Event Results" --- select "Track my individual results" Direct link is: www.usms.org/.../resultstrack.php Thank you !
  • Slight modification - the relay lead-off splits WILL be included in the public display of results once we add them in, but intermediate distance splits from your individual results will NOT be publicly viewable unless you write to us requesting a specific split. Both types WILL be submitted for top 10 consideration. As an FYI, I should point out that this is the standard practice for splits from nationals too. Most people don't want their intermediate splits to appear as if they were stand-alone swims in their individual results, which is the reason for the policy. For those people who were going for a fast time for a given split -- for example, I remember someone going for a 100 free time in the 400 free at nationals -- they can always request that a particular split be listed separately, as relay lead-offs are.

For those people who were going for a fast time for a given split -- for example, I remember someone going for a 100 free time in the 800 free at nationals -- they can always request that a particular split be listed separately, as relay lead-offs are. If an individual swimmer wishes for certain splits from the FINA Worlds meet to be included in the public display of the USMS event results (rankings and individual results pages), please contact me and I will enter those splits for public viewing. Send those requests to: MeetResults (at) usms (dot) org. Anna Lea Matysek

Below is a direct cut and paste from the Meet Program at Nationals. Even though it was in the program, many people on deck asked me how these splits were going to be handled. Going forward I'll see if I can include this same blurb in the email newsletter that goes to swimmers before the meet. Although I guess if people don't read the meet program they may not read the meet emails, either... Split Notification Split requests for records or Top 10 are required for an initial distance of an individual backstroke event. The swimmer is responsible for picking up the Split Notification Form from the administrative official, filling it out and presenting it to the administrative official prior to the swim. A split request for initial distances of all other individual events (excluding individual backstroke events) and for all relay lead-off splits has been submitted on behalf of all swimmers, and swimmers need not submit split requests for those events. Automatic split times will be submitted for USMS Top 10, however automatic split times from individual events will not automatically appear in the USMS event results database. If you would like a split time to be added to the event results database, email your request to webmaster@usms.org. Jeff
