Just thought I would start a thread which didn't have deep philosophical overtones so that we all can have fun with the new forum software. Based upon personal experience, I will start a list of “You know you are a swimmer when …” with the following:
You know you are a swimmer when you leave work in the rain and you can smell the chlorine coming off of your hair.
Anyone care to add to the list?

You're sick enough that you consider not going to work, while heading for the pool.
...you get excited about how soft and fluffy your new towel is after your post workout shower...$5.99 from Target!
This might make you a swimmer, but it also makes you a target for a Chuck Norris attack.
You never have less than 3 swimsuits drying on your bathroom towel rack at onece.
You can say "easy" and "5000 yards" in the same sentance.
You go through about 5 swimsuits a year.
You wear more than one swimsuit at a time , and know the purpose for doing so.
You know you are a swimmer when
1.you swim in the fast lane and are the only girl in the lane and then get told to lead the lane.
2. you want to break records in your age group
3. you want to get 1st place in the Nat'ls and you've only been working out for 18 months and then do it.
4. you start planning for the Worlds in 2010 now.
5. you change you work schedule to fit your work out schedule.
6. on your scheduled day of rest you still go to the pool to do drills.
Now that is commitment.

when the practice suit your wearing looks like dental floss from all of the material thats torn away, but you won't throw it away because it's your favorite drag suit.
