Just thought I would start a thread which didn't have deep philosophical overtones so that we all can have fun with the new forum software. Based upon personal experience, I will start a list of “You know you are a swimmer when …” with the following:
You know you are a swimmer when you leave work in the rain and you can smell the chlorine coming off of your hair.
Anyone care to add to the list?

You know you are a swimmer when you hunt up the local Y when you want to swim instead of using the pool at the motel where you are staying.
When you ask for driving directions at the front desk, they usually will say, "But we have a pool here".
You know you're a dedicated swimmer currently taking a break from the pool and competition because "real life is getting in the way" when you clean your bathroom with Tilex and think about how much you LOVE and MISS the smell of chlorine at your local pool....
Ahhh, the smell of chlorine. In my younger days I swam mostly in indoor pools, but now I swim almost exclusively in outdoor pools, which aren't quite the same so far as that chlorine smell. I find that when I walk into an indoor pool and inhale that wonderful nostalgic smell.....Ahhhhh, it's wonderful!
You know you are a swimmer when...
...you carry a 5/8" wrench in your workout bag because it's a lot easier to tighten the lane ropes yourself than to wait for the guards to find their wrench.
...you are 5'1", 105 lbs, but you eat more than your date does.
...you drive a car with personalized "LV2SWIM" plates.
...you have 64 swimming-related t-shirts in your closet (seriously--I just counted).

You know you’re a swimming family when … you find nothing unusual with your wife coaching a practice on Wednesday, delivering the second baby on Thursday and after skipping Friday practice, is back on the deck for Sunday practice.
You know you are a swimmer when ........... you do a freestyle flip turn at 36 weeks pregnant.
This is in honor of our coach Jenni who came with us to a meet in Charlotte and could not seem to sit and just coach us. She deck entered the 50 free.
