Just thought I would start a thread which didn't have deep philosophical overtones so that we all can have fun with the new forum software. Based upon personal experience, I will start a list of “You know you are a swimmer when …” with the following:
You know you are a swimmer when you leave work in the rain and you can smell the chlorine coming off of your hair.
Anyone care to add to the list?

Introducing Sonic Man!! He's a self-portrait, to add.
YKYASW...
You walk in after 10PM, make a drink, pop a naproxen, eat a doughnut without any fear of calories or carbs, grab your ice pack, and stick your neti pot up your bugle!
YKYASW...
You feel a cold coming on and rush to the pool so that if you feel really awful the next day, you won't feel bad about missing a workout.
(5 months ago I thought y'all were NUTS talking like this, and now I've become one of you :help:. When do I learn the secret handshake?)
You go on honeymoon to Mexico and pack swim kit. Turn up at hotel with no pool but a large lagoon. Oh look - people swimming laps across the lagoon (about 75m) look like serious swimmers - think I'll join in. Do so for first week of honeymoon (turns out they were the Hungarian triathlon squad!), despite mutterings of diapproval from hte wife. Continue to do so for second week, in spite of being told that (and seeing) crocodiles in the lagoon!
You have met David Wilkie and seen him swimming 50m breastroke underwater.

Does he still have the tache?
It was way back last century (late 1980's) and he did still have the tache. Just googled him and the facial hair appears still to be in place. Back to the usual topic of shaving for racing?
You know you're a swimmer when...
you do 50 x 100 fly on 2:00 for your 50th birthday because you can!
Kerry O'Brien did that last Monday, March 12th.
Way to go Coach Big Dog
And, you know you're a swimmer when...
you bring your 4 year old daughter to a swim meet and she not only wants to buy a suit (pink of course!), but she wants to swim too!
And, a simple change in the weather makes you think about swim meets. The first nice Spring day always makes me think of our Pac Champs :)
And, you still swim because even though you may have done it forever, you are still trying new things...
Karen, I thought you swam 50 x 100 fly when I first read that and was going to have to surrender my screen name to you ... HOLY CRUD! That's ALOT of fly. Power to him!
