Just thought I would start a thread which didn't have deep philosophical overtones so that we all can have fun with the new forum software. Based upon personal experience, I will start a list of “You know you are a swimmer when …” with the following:
You know you are a swimmer when you leave work in the rain and you can smell the chlorine coming off of your hair.
Anyone care to add to the list?

You know when you are a (self-coached) swimmer, when your wife and son hear you talking to yourself and they know it is just the coach talking to you.
You want to start competing, but are going to wait until after your next birthday (in a couple months), so you don't have to compete against the just-out-of-college swimmers.
The smell of chlorine perks you up
You start thinking that $200 for a suit that only gets worn for competition sounds "reasonable"
You own 8 swimsuits, but only have one old ratty one that you'd ever wear to a "pool party"

You know you are a swimmer when somebody else makes plans that screw up your regularly scheduled endorphin time and
THEY end up having a bad day too.
ahhh yes.. i second that ;)
when @ a swim meet your swim buddy starts poking you in the ribs and laughing out loud when he observes the the womens relay being formed up contains your current girlfriend and the two previous girlfriends.
What about when you miss your morning workout with the team, go to the Y that afternoon, after work, on a Friday (while everyone else is planning where to eat out and consume adult beverages) catch a big endorphin buzz - go meet your family for dinner sporting goggle squeeze (racoon eyes) and feel great!
Best part of my day today!
