Training to break 1 min in 100 FR

I have decided to try and retackle this challenge. The closest I have gotten is a 1:03 (in yards). The next meet that is within a close driving distance that I could afford is in January 2015 and than one in March 2015 where I hope to break 1 minute. Right now I'm probably only in 1:10-11 shape as I haven't been swimming consistently due to work and a stint at lifting only. January is still 30+ weeks away, which gives me plenty of time to train. I do train solo as well. How would you go about prepping for a goal like this with a meet so far in the future?
