Swimming Technic? or Training hard workouts?

Hi. I'm teaching swimming for a lot of years thought. I have some question about to people. I usually training kids or adults swim technic first. I trained them a lot of drills and correct their form and position and others but some article said that only training technic isn't that good efficient. better way to do is drill and workout mixed. How do you think about that? I agree with that a little but the important thing is if they don't focus with drills They won't fix their swimming skills. I thought first make them 100% right position and correct form and after that then I could teach them with workouts. That is how I think now. I just wanna hear other coach's thinking. please let me know and wanna hear your teching style. thank you.
