Partial Taper?

I'm a drop-dead sprinter who typically tapers (4) weeks out with running and weights and (3) weeks out in the pool. I'm planning on swimming 50's and 100's and after a glass of wine, entering the 200 breaststroke (LCM). Sooooo, with the idea of a mini taper for my next meet, how should this look? Dryland and swim taper, how many weeks out and what should my workouts consist of? I'm new to the concept of a partial taper as I have always competed in meets either fully rested/tapered or unrested. Any thoughts????
  • drop-dead sprinter doing the 200lcm ***? fair warning - do NOT go out fast, but if you do, can i have the video of the last 100? :D to make a good suggestion, i would need more info about what your partial taper would consist of, i'm just not following you. partial compared to what? steve
  • I don't always partially taper, but when I do, I taper only one side of my body. The other remains in heavy training.
