I'm finishing a 2300km swim distance challenge at Narragansett Beach, RI in 2 weeks on Fri June 20th from 4-6pm to raise awareness for sharks. 2300km is the length of the Great Barrier Reef, home to more sharks than anywhere else on the planet. Any and all are welcome to join for the final fun swim off the beach! We're giving away T-shirts and prizes from ARENA Swimwear, SHARK SAVERS, and Project AWARE, Shark Bite energy bars, bumper stickers, tons of shark info, and shark tattoos for kids. ARENA Swimwear are a pro-shark/pro environment company and an amazing team who have been behind this project 100%. Sharks are the planet's most critical species, a governing top predator in our largest ecosystem, ocean. They have an unjust bad rap and they are in big trouble. We are slaughtering more than 100 000 000 sharks a year from finning, long lining, overfishing, beach nets, and imposed culls. Sharks on average kill 7-10 people a year worldwide. I am raising funds for Project AWARE (Aquatic World Awareness Responsibility, and Education) a global NGO non-profit organization dedicated to "Conserving underwater environments through education, advocacy, and action" through their FINathon - Get Swimming to End Finning campaign - aiming for $2300 for 2300km - in less than a week I have hit 28% of my goal: finathon.org/swimmingfastforsharks forums.usms.org/attachment.php FINS UP!
