Sean Avery, Cody Simpson, Olympic ice dancing darlings Meryl Davis & Charlie White all cast for Season 18 of the popular TV show
Diana Nyad may have made history last year by swimming from Cuba to Florida, but it seems she's about to hit primetime. While we've seen the long-distance swimmer in a one-piece and swimming cap, it now looks like she's about to get a bit more glam. Yesterday she tweeted a tease about an announcement on GMA this morning, and now we know what we suspected to be true: She's been cast on the 18th season of Dancing With the Stars, and she has been paired with & hottie Australian pro dancer Henry Byalikov
She's going to have some stiff competition this season, especially with Olympic ice dancing gold medalist Meryl Davis (paired with Maksim Chmerkovskiy) and Charlie White (with Sharna Burgess). We're sure plenty of eyes will also be locked on former NHL player (and Andy Cohen BFF) Sean Avery (who we're sure will strip it all off at some point). Derek Hough announced another twist on Good Morning America today, saying that at some point the cast will all switch partners. For a bit more gaybait, we have singer Cody Simpson, as well.
Other notables that will surely make it fun include Drew Carey, Full House actress Candace Cameron Bure, the Wonder Years' Danica McKellar, and reality star NeNe Leakes. Oh, let's not overlook legendary Billy Dee Williams.

I just can't imagine her on this. With all the controversy, you know people are going to make cracks about making sure she's on camera the whole time so she can account for those faster moves. LOL!
Heck, the vast majority of viewers won't have any idea who Diana Nyad is, and will have no appreciation for her swimming feats even once they've been told.
I think this is true. I'm a member of a Jeopardy! forum and there was a Final Jeopardy about Nyad not too long ago. Plenty of people commented that they'd never heard of her, and these are people one would assume are paying more attention to the news than your average Joe on the street. I was a little shocked, to be honest.
You can always use the excuse that your just watching to see what Sean Avery is going to do:

I wouldn't be surprised if Sean and Diana "drop the gloves" and square off at some point!
The vast majority of viewers will be unaware of any controversy, I bet.

She was a pretty good dancer in the old days. I was at a little party in Roberville quebec and she did nice little dance there. A very good looker in those days also.
