Hello Everyone,
My name is Jon McCarthy, I was a competitive swimmer for 6 years and have run my own summer swim program for 5 years. I am 21 years old, and a senior at North Dakota State University. I learned to swim in our family pool at the age of 7 by my father's instruction. I have been in love with the sport ever since. In the last year I have been developing a not for profit organization called Aqua Motion International (AMI). What AMI does is look for low-income areas around the world with high-drowning rates and provide free water safety education and on-site swimming lessons for the children in these areas. Right now I am planning a trip to Kathmandu, Nepal. With a partnership with the Nepali Swimming Association we believe we can have over 2,000 Nepali children participate in the AMI program in a 12 day period.
