How should a sprinter train?

How do 50m and 10mm freestyler generally train? Do they do fast and short distance sprints with plenty of rest or just normal and short distance with normal rest? Like example doing 10x100@ 1.45 or 10x100 @ 3.00? Also should stroke work be done often? i am now incorporating snorkels as drill work too, to really concentrate on body position during kicking and pulling.
