I used to swim at the Rutherford HS pool over 20 years ago when I lived in NJ. As I recall it's a 25 meter pool. Rutherford is probably easier to get to from Paterson. I went to Rutherford's website but couldn't find info on swim times. Here is the number for the recreation dept. Maybe you can get some more info there. (201-460-3015)
