When you finish do you keep your stroke the same and short stroke into the wall, or do you adjust and try to finish extended? What is faster?
For turns I think the answer is to adjust going in to set up a better turn, but for finishes, not so sure.

For turns I think the answer is to adjust going in to set up a better turn, but for finishes, not so sure. I always adjust in the last five yards to finish extended.
You definitely want to finish fully extended and adjust your stroke accordingly.Conventional wisdom is to do the same with the turns and that is clearly right for many people.Since you need your arms bent to turn, I like to short stroke into the turn to make sure I reach the wall in good position to turn.
"How do you finish a breaststroke race?"
in pain, out of breath
The ideal way to finish any breastroke race is streamlined fully extended head neutral just as you finish a kick
Free, Fly and back are arm driven strokes, *** is leg driven
Ok, all kidding aside. I have seen elite swimmers just short stroke the finish rather than adjust the last three strokes. Wondering what's fastest.
I guess what's fastest is not having to adjust and still finishing in an extended position!
