Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and in this state. I live in West New York, NJ and looking to continue my passion which is swimming. I have been looking for a while through highway 46 and 3, for fitness centers and other sport facilities that have swimming pool (Olympic or junior) but no luck so far. I cant wait to join as soon as possible and I would appreciate any of your efforts to help me finding a place to swim. Thank You, Eno
  • There is a 50-meter pool at Riverbank State Park in Manhattan, not far from the George Washington Bridge. But the water is often quite warm.
  • Call a nearby YMCA or HS (public or private) with a swim team and ask for the swim coach or pool director -they would know where the nearest 50 m pool (or 25m/y pool) is located. Or, track down the nearest USA swimming program and ask one of their coaches. 50 m pools are sparse and there are generally more outdoor 50m pools around (closed now).

Try the USMS Places to Swim listings. From the main usms.org page, mouse over the red "Local Programs" tab and select Places to Swim. Then enter your zip code, and search.
  • Check out www.swimmersguide.com, as well. I always struggle finding a pool in NJ; the best is at Rutgers, but it'll be too far for you and I'm pretty sure their Masters team no longer exists. If you work or travel into NY on a daily basis, then you should check out Asphalt Green -- www.asphaltgreen.org/c-1967-Adult-Aquatics.aspx.
