In terms of the timing of your stroke, you are beginning your kick too late in the arm pull cycle. You need to begin recovering your feet when you are at the “outsweep” phase of the pull. The mechanics of your pull: you are sculling your wrists and arms too far out and too far back. The insweep of your hands and arms is not complete – you need to bring your elbows as close together as possible, without pausing under the chin or slowing down, as you recover your hands forward towards the initial starting point of the pull. Pausing under the chin prior to the recovery of your pull reduces your momentum. You need to be sure that your transition from the insweep to the streamline is as quick as possible. You have a good streamline after the finish of the kick, prior to starting your next pull, although you need to try to get more distance per stroke by straightening your arms and elbows and reaching as far in front as possible. As you noticed, your kick is also too wide. You can correct your stroke mechanics with the following drills: Half-Pull Drill Scull Kick Kick with Board and Pull Buoy Kick at Back in Streamline Position Good luck!
