Many! That is the point - it's not just about swimming fast, but showing up! And for many people, that's no so easy. So anyone that places top ten or almost - it's a tremendous accomplishment!! The only thing that could/should/would have in common with do/does/did is that they are linking verbs.
CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE WHO MADE TOP TENS!!!
Absolutely. I look at my age group and berate myself for not competing, but everyone else committed the time to do it.
