I know this is vague but I need help for my sprints (particularly breaststroke). I feel I don't have the speed I want but I am not sure what to do to improve. Any ideas?
Post a video and we can be more specific,but here are some generic ideas.For sprints you need power and fast hands and feet.For power appropriate weight lifting is nearly required.I'll leave it for others to discuss exercises.You need to practice swimming fast so check out forums.usms.org/forumdisplay.php breaststroke you need fast feet,fast hands and fast undulation.The best drill I know of for fast feet is 25s eggbeater kick sprints.For hands try 25s head up breaststroke pulls.For fast undulation I don't know of anything better than 25s SDK. Also be sure and do full stroke BR sprints early in the workout while you are fresh.
