FINA rules as modified for Masters competition and as printed in the latest edition of the FINA Handbook will govern all aquatic disciplines at the V UANA Pan American Masters Championships. hmmm not sure on that. i wore the USMS cap in italy. nothing was mentioned to me about that.
HOWEVER! i was almost DQ'd from climbing out of the pool after the 100 free by going over the wall next to the blocks.

yes, the meet ref came over to me and told me to never do it again or i will be dq'd.
