If you allow me an analogy (I'll try to avoid hitting the Godwin spot here). You got caught in a severe case of drunk driving. The society wants you to stop driving for a whilst. That should apply to motorcycles, cars... and boats too!
I was thinking of another scenario. Suppose you get fired at work for cause. Do you think it would be fair if there was some overarching "Employment Agency" that could then ban you from getting any kind of job ever again, based solely on their discretion?
