Any suggestions on the best ones...? The black ones from Staples are disintegrating way too fast, going through too many of them, and we lost a couple down the gutter grates..... Thanks! Todd

You might have luck at an art supply store.
  • I used to use them and experienced the same issue - once they get wet the are toast. Invest in a diver's slate and pen -about $10 from most scuba supply places; you can get them online at scuba.com

To clean it, I use a dab of white toothpaste (not gel toothpaste) and rub it on the board where I have written with the pencil. I then wipe it off with a damp paper towel.

Thanks for the link sok454. That "safety leash" would def keep the pencils from getting swallowed by the gutter. Reviews aren't great; I called the local dive shop and they have a few, checking them out this aft. T

  • What are you using them for? We use them to have the swimmers record times or stroke counts during a test set.
