Looking for "natural" anti-chlorine shampoo - Aubreys?

As the subject says, I am looking to find a natural anti-chlorine shampoo. Has anyone found one that they like? One I found via search is called Aubrey Organics Swimmer's Normalizing Shampoo, but I haven't tried it yet, so I welcome feedback on it and other similar products. And yes, I know that natural is one of those wiggly words than anyone can just slap on a label, and that some think it's just BS (and often it is). However, I have some medical reasons to try to eliminate endocrine disrupters from my life as much as possible, and propyl paraben, a common ingredient in many shampoos, is supposed to be one (according to, e.g., the European Commission on Endocrine Disruption).

  • I just purchased Reflect H2O Swim Shampoo- you might want to check it out too-www.reflectsports.com/reflect-h2o-swim-hair-care Thanks! Vitamin C neutralizes chlorine and bromine. You can get commercial products like "SwimSpray", but it's easy and cheap to make your own. I started out making a vitamin C and water spray using vitamin C crystals and water in a spray bottle, then used a squeeze bottle... Now I just dump some dissolved crystals in every new shampoo and body wash bottle (about a tablespoon dissolved in 1/2 cup or so of water for an economy sized bottle). A little bit works great. Too much (that you don't or can't rinse out enough) can be harder on your hair and suits than chlorine. But even then you smell fine. I have some CVS vitamin C tablets... I wonder if those would work as well if I crushed them... but I also noticed that the shampoo and conditioner I've been using recently, Burt's Bees Super Shiny with Mango, already has ascorbic acid (aka vitamin C) as one of the ingredients. So, maybe the solution was already right in front of me and I didn't realize it? Lots of great suggestions here. I just wanted to chime in since you specifically asked about Aubrey's. I purchased their swimmers shampoo a few months ago and hated it. I'd pass. Good to know, thanks! I hate buying a whole bottle of something and then not liking it.
